What did you wish you knew when you started?

Myself and my colleague are in the very early stages of thinking about putting something together for new entrants to the construction industry, potentially under the banner of the G4C part of Constructing Excellence.

What we'd like to ask forum users is two questions:

1) What did you wish you knew when you came into the industry that you didn't?

2) What do you wish new entrants know when they come into the industry now?

Please reply with your answers, I will be compiling these with a view to including them within an online guide of some sort.
